Softball sweeps doubleheader

Newington 17, Hall 0 (5) (Game 1): The Indians broke open game one of the doubleheader in the third inning with 13 runs. Alyssa Bellizzi (3-for-4, three RBIs), Olivia Burgos (2-for-3, three runs, double) and Katrina Peck (2-for-2, two RBIs, home run, double) led the way for Newingotn at the plate. Kat Lagace picked up the win in the circle and only gave up three hits.

Newington 15, Hall 0 (5) (Game 2): The Indians were just as successful in the second game, this time thanks in large part to eight runs in the fifth. Katrina Peck, Olivial Burgos and Kaitlyn Bernacki all hit home runs for Newington. Kat Lagace picked up the win, allowing just four hits while striking out nine. Newington is now 13-2.
