Softball picks up another winFriday, May 12, 2017 MERIDEN - The Newington softball team bounced back just one day after having its 12-game losing streak come to an end. The Indians won at Maloney by a score of 5-0 to pick up their 13th win of the year. Kat Lagace threw a shutout, her seventh of the season, while striking out 10 Spartans. On offense, Newington pounded out 12 hits, four of which came off the bat of Cyan Gonzalez. The shortstop finished 4-4 with a double and two runs scored. Rachel Thureson went 2-4 with a double and two RBI and Lindsey Mangiafico went 2-3 with a run.
